The 1st International Forum “Forest and woodworking industry - reform, investment, innovation” was organized by the State Forest Resources Agency of the Ukraine as part of the LISDEREVMASH 15th International Trade Fair of Machinery and Equipment for Forestry, Woodworking and Furniture Industry.

Main topics and outcomes

Three panels were held to discuss:
Industry reforms: European path for Ukrainian forestry
Investment: Steps to development
Innovations: The use of modern technology in the forest industry


Wood Invest Forum '2015 was the first platform in the forestry sector in Ukraine, created to highlight and discuss issues of forestry and wood processing industry in Ukraine, and aims to become a kind of platform for transparent communication processes in dialogue between "government-business" and "power-investor." The theme of this forum is "Forest and woodworking, reforms, investment, innovations." The event will take place every year in the framework of the international exhibition "Lisderevmash".


Road map: For the near future, a new strategy to a new level of development, threats and prospects of the coming legislative changes for the industry, as well as factors that contribute to the investment attractiveness of the forestry industry, including in the context of the adopted law banning the export of unprocessed wood was discussed by the forestry and wood processing experts.


RERAM was represented by Prof. Orest Kiyko of the National Forest Technical University of Ukraine (UNFU), who gave in the course of panel no.1 a presentation on "Reforms for the sake of resource efficiency in the forest sector of Ukraine".  >>>  presentation.
